WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS HOST CITY BERN TO RETURN ON IFSC CALENDAR FOR NEXT FOUR YEARS
The capital city of Switzerland will host a yearly appointment at Bern Expo from 2025 to 2028.
The calendar of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup Series 2025 will be unveiled on 30 September, and following the presentation of the first-ever Climbing World Cup event in South America, the IFSC is proud to announce that it has signed a four-year agreement with the city of Bern, Switzerland.
The capital city of Switzerland will return on the IFSC calendar with a yearly appointment to be held at Bern Expo, an exhibition centre at walking distance from the PostFinance Arena – the venue of the IFSC Climbing and Paraclimbing World Championships in August 2023.
Switzerland has a long-standing tradition of hosting Climbing and Para Climbing events, including this year’s European Championships in Villars, or the opening World Cup event of the season, which took place in Meiringen for six times between 2016 and 2022. Also, since the foundation of the IFSC, three other Swiss cities hosted Climbing World Cup events: Greifensee, Grindelwald, and Zurich.
