MUV-Festival 2026: Three days of sport, action and world-class bouldering

From May 22nd to 24th, 2026, the BERNEXPO area was once again transformed into a hotspot for around 13,000 sports, health, and outdoor enthusiasts thanks to the MUV-Festival. At the same time, the World Climbing Series in the Bern Festival Hall created a thrilling competitive atmosphere with spectacular world-class bouldering.

The second edition of the MUV-Festival took place from Friday, May 22nd to Sunday, May 24th, 2026 at the BERNEXPO exhibition center. Around 40 exhibitors presented their products and services, showcased new trends, and invited visitors to actively participate. The festival thus built upon the successful launch of the previous year and offered a diverse experience for the whole family.

“The MUV-Festival is meant to move people – in the truest sense of the word. We are delighted that so many visitors once again actively participated, experienced the special festival atmosphere and at the same time witnessed world-class bouldering up close,” summarizes Project Manager Inka Bannholzer.

Test it out, participate, and enjoy spectacular shows.

Inside and around the festival hall, guests could try out numerous activities. In the cycling area, for example, various bicycle models were available on a test track, while the youngest sports enthusiasts could let loose on the pump track, skimboarding, or in trampoline workshops. Exhibitor Thömus Bike World AG draws a positive conclusion: "The MUV-Festival is an important event for us. The right target group was present: young and enthusiastic about sports. The visitors were very interested in cycling, and the test track was actively used for test rides," says Markus Binggeli.

The summery temperatures didn't deter visitors from taking advantage of the diverse offerings in the outdoor area. "We can look back on three successful days at the MUV-Festival. The atmosphere was lively, and many guests took the opportunity to try out our activities at the stand," says Stefan Hagnauer of FOCUSWATER.

Daily trampoline shows with spectacular jumps and impressive acrobatics provided additional entertainment. Bernese athlete Robin Steiner, world champion in freestyle trampoline, also participated. In total, the MUV-Festival offered five themed areas: Alpine Sport, Cycling, Fitness, Freestyle Sport, and the World Climbing Series.

Top-level sport and goosebump atmosphere

The sporting highlight of the weekend was the World Climbing Series Bern, held for the second time this year in the Festhalle. Even during the qualifying rounds on Friday, the world's best bouldering athletes delivered thrilling competitions and a captivating atmosphere. The atmosphere in the Festhalle reached its peak during the semi-finals and finals, thrilling the audience.

In the women's final on Saturday evening, Oceania Mackenzie (AUS) prevailed against international competition. The highlight for Switzerland was Sofya Yokoyama, who qualified for the semifinals and finished a strong 12th. In the men's competition on Sunday evening, Sorato Anraku (JPN) emerged victorious. This brought to a close a weekend of high-caliber sport and great atmosphere.

The next MUV-Festival, including the World Climbing Series Bern, will take place again at the BERNEXPO site from May 28th to 30th, 2027.
